The AJ Update

Radiation Therapy Journeys

We are coming up on AJ’s last few treatments at IU/Riley in Radiation Therapy. He has completed 17 treatments and 3 more to go, woohoo! I’m posting a few images that show him getting fitted for his IU/Indianapolis radiation treatments and then I’ll post a couple I took when we went to IU-Bloomington last week.

IU-Cancer Center Indianapolis with Dr. Chang

The IU-Bloomington radiation treatments look like they might be easier to get through just seeing the simulation and AJ agrees. At IU-Ind he had to be face-down as you can see, but at Bloominton he will be face up which I think will be less uncomfortable.

(pardon the quality of the next two, they were taken on my cell phone)

AJ, that equipment all looks pretty scary at first, but then I realized these are the first pictures I’ve ever seen of a miracle occurring! These are the things that are going to allow you to go from being a really sick boy back to being the healthy boy you were before. I’m so glad your mom shared these pictures with us!
